Easy Japanese Chicken Curry

IJapanese curry is quite famous food in Japanese restaurant. 

Different with Spicy Indian or Malaysian curry, Japanese curry tend to mild, sweeter and light.

The big different in ingredient is Japanese Curry use flour as thickening agent, and Apple, Pear and Honey to sweeten the dish.

This curry always become one of our fave menu when we eating out. Easy food, simple taste, comforting and easy to copy :)


Please forgive my messy bowl,
No time to wipe and make it cute coz we are rushing between cook, eat and put baby to bed lol.


The ingredients (in cheating way)
Are very few. As long as you have Japanese Curry Block you are safe.

1 potato
2 carrot
1/2 yellow onion
1 cm ginger
300 gram chicken
3 blocks vermont curry 
2 glasses water
2 tbs cooking oil

Chopped all ingredients into big cubed, minced the ginger.


Heat up cooking oil in a wok, stir fry onion and minced ginger until soft and fragant.


Add in chicken, stir for couple minutes until the meat brown a bit.


Add in potato and carrot, occasionally stir for 5 minutes until all vegetable brown a bit.


Most of veggies are covered with brown bit now.
Can you smell the goodness...?



Add in 2 glass of water, 
Simmer on low heat.


Add in 3 blocks of vermont curry seasoning.


Cook until the liquid reduced.
Taste the curry, you may add bit of salt, pepper, honey to suit you.


Served with pipping hot rice.
