Marcella's 2nd Birthday

My little Bunny turn two last week and (like usual we don't have any exciting plan about it)

Thanks to her Aunt, who insisted a trip to celebrate and to have something to remember.

Having 24 Months Old is a new things for me. She has lot of new skills which often amaze me.
She is now able to sit still and focus on something interest her (not gadget or device, I'm talking about something else).

1. Our friendship become much better, she seems understand our conversation better.
2. Learning about empathy toward other feeling better. She understand hurt, pity, sympathy better.
3. Hands on learning on daily chores and quite useful for me.

4. Still no sign of scissors and knife cutting skills (it will be much better in couple weeks).

Ice cream is her fave thing (one particular brand which made from coconut milk with purple yam flaavour)
Ais Potong Satu Malaysia

We drove to Cherating for one night stay because she has her appointment on Monday.
We stop at Telok Cempedak Beach, my all time favorite place to spend my weekend.

Lunch at Mee Tarik Warisan

And another 30 minutes drives via beach road to Cherating.

We stayed at the same apartment, Samsuria Beach Resort. I wasn't sure whether the wet and rainy weeks or just the less-cleanliness that make the hotel bit sticky and less pleasant to stay.

Overall mostly are nice and fine.

Something you always need when you visiting east coast Malaysia,
I HATE THEIR SANDS FLIES
they are super small, almost couldn't see. Swarm on your skins without you realised.
And the next day I will have hot-itch all over my body which usually last about one week.
Nasty...!

We brought couple pieces of small cakes and presents.

Day-1
Lady Bugs Cupcake and candles to blow

Day-2
another cupcake, another candle and another birthday song.

After blowing candles, we went out to have walk on the beach to collect sea shell.
The weather was a bit friendly too...

Having lunch at Pak Su Seafood restaurant in Balok.
It was a great food, I love them and insist to take away the left over so we can have it for the next day lunch (ahaks....)

On the next day we just make a trip to IKEA to buy this children table.

She loves it a lot.
And now almost everyday we use it for meal, painting, playing, drawing, colouring.

In the afternoon the present from her Nanny just arrived far far away from the UK.
awww.... paddington book and paddington Bear.

Happy 2nd Birthday my dear...
Lot of works  and adventures awaiting ahead..

Ibu Family: How Much I Love This Playgroup

It was only the 2nd time Marcella joining the playgroup.

As a new Mom who is overwhelming with anything, I am finally able to sort myself out. Making proper routine schedule for both being a parent, teacher, house works, and being myself. As Marcella is getting bigger she need to learn to socialize with other kids too before the age of school, I found this organization is my salvation.

Mixed of both local and expat, I love the Moms there.
They are all educated, talk about important things (nobody talked about handbag, shoes, or nail polish so far) and their parenting style seems match with how I like.

In my condominium, where we both play in a shirts covered with sands, mud, water and we both ran around barefoot. Some of the Mom who are well dressed looking at us in a very "funny" way... and PSSTTTTTT...... some of them even bravely asked if I was the maid of my own kid. Not like I got offended, but somehow makes me think those "Mom"is quite shallow, and their kids must be shallow too...

Something I wont get in Ibu Playgroup, everyone are someone's Mother. Everyone quite respectful and no prejudice by appearance. <<<=== OK, out of topic.

So yeah,
It's only 2nd day of us joining the playgroup and we made a lot of friends, gain parenting knowledge and all of the sudden I become so child expert lol.

Walkies at Bukit Nanas Forest Research

We had Weekend walkies Bukit Nanas today,
*walkies...? sounds like walking a dog

Ha Ha, lol...
yes, I call it walkies because ït is a WALKIES

We walk for her and let her stop, admire, observe, enjoy every single weird thing on the way.

The photo booth at the entrance

I was thinking to visit KL Tower mini zoo for weekend but for price of RM 36/pp for tiny zoo,
I think its not worth to visit.
I am a fan of anything below RM 20/entrance... yes I do.
Anything friendly enough to touch, feel, sniff and (probably) kiss too.

Not a fan of visiting something too wild, because Marcella is in the stage where everything way too dangerous. She couldn't really control herself to poke, touch, eat. And she is now way too strong to push me away.

Walk in kid friendly jungle is the best option for time being.
I like this forest so much. Its in the city center, easy to access by monorail, car, taxi.
The walkway is properly build easy for kid, stroller and even disable people to explore around.

The small trail took us about 15 min walk (with Marcella too busy wandering about ants, snails, rocks and collecting every single leaves she found make it 40 min)

The end of the trail which are the entrance of KL Tower.
We had short rest and she enjoy her water.

Then we make U-turn via canopy walk

Biarlah screenshot, malas edit... haha

Enjoying the trees...
It was so relaxing (for me)
Very quiet

Then we went it to the information center for free air-condition and water.
Reading some information which make her amaze about everything
Waaa... Woooowww... Waaaahhh whenever she saw animal pictures

Ooohhh Sea Turtle...
and..

oooooh... playground

with loads of puzzle, books, coloured pencil, crayon and lego (duplo).

It was a great setup beside of the mini-museum (information center) they save a little corner for younger kids whom might turn bored very easy to kill their time while the elder people getting information in the area.

Definitely will visit again, with proper shoes and backpack.

When you said so

One day my 19Mo was pointing at baloon in boost juice.
"Look, gween bawoon" She pointed at the blue one.

"No dear, that is not green. That is blue"
"You are not colorblind are you?"

I am immediately look at that person and tell him to not said that to my kid.
He answered back
"Why.. whats wrong? nothing wrong being colorblind. Aren't they cutie pie"

I got  annoyed to that person and said to him....
"No, she is not colorblind. She just 19 months old who doesn't even know where to eat or shit yet"
"But you are, you are colorblind, quite ugly, and FAT"

he looked at me with kind of weird look. Then I continued my word...

"Why? whats wrong? nothing wrong being colorblind, ugly and fat. Aren't you ugly pie.."

I smiled at him, touched his belly with the corner of my newspaper and went away.

In the evening I told my husband about what happen and he laughed at me. He said that I shouldn't get mad of him. He just joking and he meant nothing. He adding if I'm over protective to our child, they might not having skills to defense herself.

I am totally disagree with him.

1. Rudeness, in any way of expression. Either joking or serious, its still rude.

2. Rude words to early kid will damage their confident level. Something might meant nothing to us, are meant the world for them.
If they hear it once, they might be believe that was just a joke. But if they hear it multiple times when they make mistakes. will afraid making mistakes because they don't want to hear the words they don't want to hear. The become afraid of making mistakes. Which end up: NO LEARNING

3. Yes I am protective. The way I talk to that guy also teach her how to defense herself If someone said something rude to her.

Toddler Food Round Up

My little baby is growing up and I really enjoying the motherhood more than ever.
Rather than just a baby who can only cry, laugh, and poo
she is more than everything now.

We had a chat, conversation, dancing together, walk in the park,
enjoying play ground, puddle, read the book,
washing dishes, doing laundry, hanging laundry,
folding clothes

The more I love she is able to enjoy most of adult food (kid friendly version)
So that I don't have to cook food separate from her.
Well, I still do cook special food just for her.
Then I have to cook for myself.
Just because I think her food has too much carbohydrate and fat content which not suitable for me
*psssttt... I am trying to lose weight which never happen anyway lol.

Here are some of the food I made for her

Oat porridge with yogurt and dried fruits

Fritata, Toast, String Cheese, Chocolate Milk

Toast, Scrambled Eggs, Sausages, Mushroom, Tomatoes

steamed sticky rice in coconut milk

Breakfast mostly made from protein and carbohydrate.
Since she is not really into eggs lately, and she never really like to eat meat in the morning.
I tend to give her High-Carb meal and cup of warm milk soon as she open her eyes.

While Lunch would be more variety in her plate. At this time I do spoil her with lot of choice of vegetables. I would not force her to eat certain food.
I let her choose whichever she wants to eat, and left the unwanted.

Stir fried Pasta, Steamed broccoli, Carrot, Cauliflower.
Roast Chicken from left over.

Vegetable soup (carrot, napa cabbage), Fish Ball

Soto Ayam (Indonesia Yellow Chicken Soup) served with rice noodles, hard boiled egg.

Spinach noodle soup, Carrot, Choy Sim, boiled egg

Fried Noodle, Omelette, Fried Tempeh, Yoghurt

Steamed Rice, Vegetable soup, Corn fritter

For Dinner for baby at 6pm, mostly I offered more carbohydrates and protein just to fill her up (so that she can sleep well). About 7:30 we will watch TV While we waiting her Dad back from work, she will have another session of sliced fruits as her snacks accompanied by warm milk.
