Pregnancy Problem: Is it happen to you too….??

Many people said pregnancy is the most joyful moment in their life.
I have two side of opinion

One side
More than miracle that I have a chance to have a child of my own. Something I've been dreaming for many-many-many years, till I reach the point that I might never able to have a kid on my own.

Other side
Not much thing I can enjoy. Here I describe myself during my whole 6 months so far.

1. I turn from smart to dumb
I can feel my brain having less connection to my body, esp during work or conversation. I noticed that I work slower (not my movement) but how my brain catch the work.
At this point I often hate myself, its kinda sad and depressing while I keep heard one or two colleague make comparison of their pregnancy condition with mine.

2. Breathing problem
Many people said, at the middle to last trimester of your pregnancy you will start snoring and farting without control.
Rather than feel embarrassed, I feel more suffer cos it wasn't a snore, what happen to me more suffocating during my sleep. I have breathing difficulty since my 5th Month of pregnancy. Often in the middle of the night, Mr. have to stay alert just to change my head or pillow position so I can breath well.

3. Sloppy
When your mind and your body dis-coordinate and work at their own without control. Hundred times I spilled from drink, porridge, rice, sauce, ketchup on my shirts, floor, pants. Drop my dinner or lunch on the floor, Leave me as the messiest girl at the office.

Yes, basically I turn into toddler. I can't control my body movement. I often close door before my body leave, end up with I  hit myself (many times), and uncounted of dropping keys, phone, book, anything I hold.

4. The dis-function of my palate
Whenever I cook, most of the food turn into disaster. Either I couldn't figure out what I was cooking, or forgot in the middle of the way, or throw too much salt, etc.

5. Exhausted from doing small things
Many people keep said to me to "Please take a lot of rest"
"Please don't work too hard"
"Please don't carry to much thing"

Where the rest just said it on their mouth, in fact they still load me with (normal thing)

My energy level drop up to 75%, so yes.. Most of the time I can only cope with 25% from my daily routine.

And I will just sleep or lie down for the rest of the day.

I just hope that people around me will understand my situation and stop compare me with them, their wife, their neighbor, the article they read, etc.

PREGNANCY CHRONICLE: SECOND TRIMESTER

2nd Trimester, Alhamdulillah.
Thank You God for your trust to us to be a parent :)

Everything seems getting easier right now.
I can start enjoy my life back like normal.
I can eat lasagna, bolognese and all of those Italian food with sharp seasoning.
I can mop the floor (before, I can't even pull or push anything too hard. I will end up with having bad stomach cramp)

1. I will start joining run again.
RUN…? yes, slow run or brisk walk is allowable by doctor as long as the mother know how to keep the body heat stable (not too hot). I will run and carry a bottle of iced water to splash on my back whenever I feel it was too hot.

2. I can start shopping for maternity clothes, pants and its equipment :P
(Preggy fashionista…?) LOL
Yeah, I bought couple pieces maternity top, but according to my mom they were ugly.
Too lazy to hear long complaint, I just leave some money so she can dress me as she wish

3. Back to swimming activities
I need swim to relax my muscles. Swimming (Gaya Katak) good to give my hip a chance to expand.

4. I actually Need to Start Diet
I need to watch the food I eat to avoid being giant mama with giant baby. I just can't imagine to have my tummy slashed cos the baby can't deliver normal. Or having "already fat-me" getting even fatter after having kid.

I also need to choose the right food to make sure both of us life healthy without any malnutrition.

Nothing really change but I feel my nose swollen

Getting pregnant far away from my mom is quite difficult for me.

After several visit to different clinic, I didn't feel satisfy at all.
My first visit was no proper equipment and they charged me MYR 50.
my 2nd clinic had proper equipment, but the doctor was having no interest to take care of me.
The total visit was less than 10 min : sit - ultrasound- pay.

The only thing came out from his mouth was: yes you are pregnant, you want to keep it or cancel it.
Me: Of course I want to keep it
He: Fine, OK.. Done. Comeback here next two months for ultrasound.

He wasn't answer my question about what should I do on my early pregnancy, can I still joining my running event, can I still hiking, what should I do if I can't bear my back pain, will my baby going to have malnutrition caused I can't swallow any food.
I paid MYR 80 for nothing.

I was clueless and frustrated, til one of my good friend Marina suggest me to go to KKIA (klinik kesihatan ibu anak) , a government clinic specialized to taking care women, infant and kids.

Buku Pink / Pink Book
mom's long life record during pregnancy and delivery

Many people think that Govt-KKIA is only for poor citizen while the middle and upper class would prefer private clinic. Well, its about preference. For me, anywhere I don't mind as long as I got my questions answered clearly and I get a good advise from the expert.

While it free for citizen, it is quite costly for me.
My first screening was RM 250++ and took me half day to finish all the screening test include dental, urine, blood, ultrasound, and long advise.

The price is worth because they give complete screening to me
(In Taman Desa Medical Centre, I can easily charged RM 450++)
Global Doctor Hospital was RM 230++ just for scan, not include doctor consultancy and other test.

Yes, I can afford. But daripada meng-kayakan orang yang dah kaya (hospital owner) lagi baik spend that money to charity. They will appreciate more… :)

Inside of my pink book there are plenty pages need to fill by the nurse and doctor to record my health history during pregnancy and labour.

KKIA convinced me that I will still be fine to fast during Ramadhan, and the nice nurse wrote down tips and trick to fast during pregnancy such:
- Food I need to eat to prevent me from starving
- Amount of liquid, and what kind of liquid
- When I should ignore the hunger, and when I should stop fast while I feel I want to eat something.

Basically I am quite happy to stop visiting those private clinic and switch to KKIA Segambut.
Many people said Govt hospital and clinic quite rude and careless, I guess not all true.
Everything seems depend on how we present and brought ourselves to the place.

I can understand when they start yelling to people who laugh or talk loud on the phone in waiting area, fighting with their babies, some of them arrived without bath still wear last night pajamas, and the babies clearly having super dirty diapers.

On my 2nd trimester I can start smiling and having less grumpy face HO HO HO

Mama

baby :)

Semoga baby dan mama sehat selalu sampan hari lahir, Amin :)

Short Trip to Indonesia

2015 is the most un-careered year for me.

I had to jump from one job to another job,
When I found a perfect office to work,
I thought I will be stable and will stay to my current place till… FOREVER
But my destiny told me different thing.

After long-bland-boring years,
I have too many color on my 2015
I got pregnant, and this is super new for me (clueless dumb-ass old girl)
And because of this I have to ran around between Jakarta - Solo - Kuala Lumpur non-stop

Aug-Sept- Oct, at least once a month I have to donated my saving to Air Asia
to have a trip to Indonesia.

Beginning of October we have another trip to Indonesia, p

I think I really have enough of KLIA2 and its food.
Our early lunch was dry curry mee- from Papa Rich which is quite expensive
RM 43++ for 2 dry curry mee and drink.

We arrive a bit early so I have almost two hours to finish up my assignment I need to submit soon. Working while you travel is not easy at all, you will distracted by many kids ran around and of course keep checking your time every five minutes.

2 hours flight from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta,
and another 2 1/2 hours taking Damri Bus from the Airport to Jakarta City.
I was quite happy cos I can fulfill all my food craving, but I can see Mr. is quite stress (LOL)

Jakarta is too crowded for him.

Our taxi from Gambir Train station (where the Airport Bus stop) to our hotel.
Blue Bird Taxi Rate is quite expensive compared to another brand, but the similar experience with Ho Chi Minh City.

DON'T EVER TRUST WITH SOMETHING CHEAPER.
I got cheated once by cheap taxi, and never trust them anymore.

Better to take from the brand you know, and minimize the damage.

We stay one night here, before continue to another trip.
Mansion House is quite wise choice for people who go to Jakarta for business.
Its located in Kuningan Area, where all the embassy and offices there.

Fast wifi, and bit quiet (except my room)
which next to surau with super loud prayer call and their activities.

kind of "dry" breakfast for me.
Mr refuse to eat cos Indonesian food doesn't really match his tongue.

 us in our stressful trip

Once we finish our business in embassy,
We went to Plaza Indonesia for lunch.

Went run-around-and around, with no idea what to eat for lunch.
But finally he agreed to my Indonesian food desire :P

After Lunch, another taxi trip continue.
We went to train station to go to my hometown.
(No afternoon flight from Jakarta - Solo) we need to sit on couch for 7 hours for train journey.

Not bad, just pain on my back and ass.

We had to buy this donut to get the air-condition.
Jakarta is super HOT and dusty.

No, not a good donut.
J-Co taste better.

 Our train arrived on-time,
and we continue our journey.

BYE Jakarta… I love you but I hate you :-*

We arrived home at 12 midnight, and Mr. have to catch his early flight again within couple hours cos he need to go back to the office.

(no day off for him)

While I spend my last 10 hours sleeping

meet my niece and nephew
House with too many kiddos
OMG stress me out.

They live nearby,
so whenever they free they spend their day at my parent's house.

While the sun not so biting, we start look for some local food.

lapis legit = layer cake
and
rissoles (kind of spring roll, but the filing is chicken in white sauce)

 soto ayam

bubur candil / jenang grundul
a sweet food made from rice flour cook in coconut milk and palm sugar.
served with another coconut milk

This is most of our daily lunch.
Bit of rice, green clear soup, something fried (fish, tempeh, tofu, etc)
I count i might 200-300 Kcal/meal,
which you could never get fat by having this.

On Sunday we have some event,
My 2nd brother engagement party,

long journey in a super hot and dry city,
The only way to reduce the heat is by stop talk about it and try to ignore.
So, we seldom to whine about the heat and it actually work.

The more you whine, the more you suffer

My niece growing into pretty girl :)

couple snap of family picture

The engagement picture with some of the family member

I stayed another night in My hometown before back to Malaysia,
this time I join my sister and her son to visit doctor

if you can see his face is always serious and stress out.
My nephew quite scared with me cos we seldom meet.
He doest like to mix around with stranger
AT ALL

we bought bakso (meat ball-noodle soup)
just because I feel like to eat it

mee ayam (chicken noodle)

We adopt one kitten a while a go and one my nephew love it so much

With super sucks weather, I am so exhausted and can't do anything in my hometown.
My most day was hiding in the house and tried to cool my ass off.

I can't even meet my old friend, or shopping somewhere just because of one reason:
I COULDN'T TAKE THE HEAT

Leaving Solo to go back to Kuala Lumpur.
To send my resignation letter so I can have proper rest at home.

I Gonna have another trip on November with my stuffy belly
(tired).

Mongolian Beef

Another made up menu I found in internet :P

Mongolian beef or chicken is quite common food in Chinese take-away menu.
The recipe quite easy, not so many ingredient and fast cooking.

We tried to copy the recipe for our weeknight dinner.
Well.... since we don't have enough meet in the fridge, I throw in blanched cauliflower, carrot and yellow onion to make it look more on the plate.

Ingredients:
200 gram beef, slices nicely. Dust with corn flour, set aside.
1 cup cauliflower cut and blanched for 30 second
1 carrot, peel and sliced
1/2 yellow, cut in big slices

2 cloves garlic, 1 cm ginger => slices all
3 dried chili
1 tbs cooking oil

1 tbs oyster sauces
1 tbs dark soy sauces
1 tbs light soy sauces
1 tsp sugar
*mix all with 1/2 cup water
*If you are indonesian, you can change the dark-light soy sauce with just kecap manis. And remove sugar from the recipe.

1 tsp corn flour, mix with bit of water (I use about 1/4 cup)

Heat up wok, add in cooking oil.
Stir in garlic, ginger and dried chili, cook for 30 second.
Add in beef. Cook until beef start browning.

Add in the sauce mix, and vegetable. Cook for about 1 minutes until carrot start soft.
Add in corn flour mix and onion, stir until the sauce thicken.
Taste to your preference, Mongolian beef should be a bit sweet, spicy and tasty :)

Served with hot steamed rice.

Sop Ceker aka Chicken Feet Soup

Some people might frown when I mentioned about eating chicken feet.
But for Asian, chicken feet is common food to enjoy.

Chicken feet is non-meaty part of chicken, more to bone-y and lot of collagen make it jelly-ish when we boil it for long hours.

Chicken feet always good to make anything with gravy, or just simply stir fried, or deep fried.

I like chicken feet to make soup broth since it has no fat content, makes my soup less greasy yet still taste very nice.

This soup is very simple and quite low fat-low calories, you can eat as much as you like :)

Seger untuk teman makan siang terutama di hari yang panas terik, dimakan dengan nasi dan kuah yang banyak untuk dihirup.

Ingredients:
6 chicken feet, cleaned up, cut the nails. Blanch with boiling water for 1-2 minutes, discharged the water.
1 carrot, peel and slices diagonally
1 corn, cut into 5-6 pcs
2-3 leaves of cabbage, cut but not too small

- 1/4 tsp fenugreek
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 liter water
- salt, pepper to taste

Add fenugreek, corn, garlic and blanched chicken feet into 2 liters of boiling water.
Cook until chicken feet soft.

Add in Carrot, leave for 1 minutes till carrot half cook.
Add in cabbage, cook for another 1 minutes.
Add in salt and pepper to taste.

Sprinkle with minced chinese parsley and spring onion for better aroma.
Served immediately :)

Dare to try?
